One corner of my garden shed. We worked on it over the long weekend, hung shelving and cabinets on the walls, put up the curtains, laid the rugs, hung the front door, and many other small details. Already I am drying flower petals to be used for incense soon.
This is the best workbench, countertop is a deal from the restore last year, Henry made the swivel stool out of 2 different broken stools, using the good parts of both.
Found this small chest a couple of years ago at a yard sale, it fits perfectly beside the front door.
“I want a garden shed, I said to Henry. “Guess I will buy one.”
“Nope, he said. “Guess I will build one.”
and so we built a deck, then walls, then Henry proved he is Super Man and stood the walls up. OK, well, it wasn’t quite that simple. Those walls are heavy. and large. But walls are going up, one at a time. This whole shed is made out of windows, doors, lumber that we found here and there, freecycle, yard sales, by the side of the road. The only thing we purchased was lumber for the floor, and several boxes of screws.
This will be the front door, wait til you see it, of course it is old, has a window and is completely great!!! And last weekend we found the neatest door handle!!
Here you can see my green house windows, Henry, the glass artist, will fix the broken windows, hang shutters, roof, fill cracks, build counter tops, and cabinets, hang doors, hang shelving, and herb drying racks, and a attend to a few more minor details this weekend. More pics later.
Hi, long time no see!! We have been busy, with the shop, of course, and with buying a new house. it is a 100-year-old adobe house, large enough, and with a huge yard. A new garden will sprout soon but first there is the moving in process, lots of truck loads of furniture and belongings, curtain hanging, kitchen arranging, and much more.
Although the house is move in ready, for the most part, some projects needed to be accomplished right away.
Like this door on my sun porch, leading to the ‘as yet to be garden’. Pluma says it is creepy, has 100-year-old paint on it and spiders. “Fix it Mom,’ he says.
A good brushing with a broom, one coat of paint,
and cute ceramic heart. We are ready to go out the door!!! Garden here we come.
Pluma says, ‘Here is a good view of Moms garden, without me in it. don’t know how she got that picture cause I am in all pictures, it is written in my contract!
we have been adding a tire to the potato bush every month, filling it with dirt and watering well.
Pluma having a good time outside in the garden
Todays harvest will be lunch soon.
Pansies are almost finished for the year, with the high temps we have been having they decide to retire. Will plant more next fall for winter growth.
They were lovely while they lasted, but the high triple digit temperatures have done them in. I pressed many in the pages of a large book , later I will use them in artwork and many more were dried to be used in a special incense blend.
We burn a fire every weekend, oftener if possible, to ask Blessings for all of our customers, friends and family.
All who are donating to our Building Acquisition Fund are included…Good things are coming your way!
Only 2 more weeks until our closing and we still need some financing but are almost there, Thank you for all of your help and prayers!!
