Burning in your cauldron,

Many times we have a small cauldron and no natural pine, juniper or other materials that will fit in the container. Here is the solution to that problem: a burning kit containing a charcoal disc, small branches and berries and a delicious scent.   Available for $5.99.  Great for the full moon, Yule or any time you want a special burn.

Here is a new picture of the magickal space in my garden shed where these special kits were designed, created and packaged.

One corner of my garden shed.  We worked on it over the long weekend, hung shelving and cabinets on the walls, put up the curtains, laid the rugs, hung the front door, and many other small details.  Already I am drying flower petals to be used for incense soon.

This is the best workbench, countertop is a deal from the restore last year, Henry made the swivel stool out of 2 different broken stools, using the good parts of both.

Found this small chest a couple of years ago at a yard sale, it fits perfectly beside the front door.

“I want a garden shed, I said to Henry. “Guess I will buy one.”

“Nope, he said. “Guess I will build one.”

and so we built a deck, then walls, then Henry proved he is Super Man and stood the walls up.  OK, well, it wasn’t quite that simple.  Those walls are heavy. and large.wpid-2015-05-18-16.25.00.jpg But walls are going up, one at a time.  This whole shed is made out of windows, doors, lumber that we found here and there, freecycle, yard sales, by the side of the road.  The only thing we purchased was lumber for the floor, and several boxes of screws.

This will be the front door, wait til you see it, of course it is old, has a window and is completely great!!! And last weekend we found the neatest door handle!!

Here you can see my green house windows, Henry, the glass artist, will fix the broken windows, hang shutters, roof, fill cracks, build counter tops, and cabinets, hang doors, hang shelving, and herb drying racks, and a attend to a  few more minor details this weekend.  More pics later.

new building

Here is the first picture of the newest building in our family!

We will get the key on the 15th and can’t wait… the first event in the new space will be the suitcase show on August 17 and 18.

No, you don’t buy the suitcase, you buy the special items inside them!  So far we are expecting jewelry, stuffed animals, aprons, baked goods, soaps and lotions, artwork, more jewelry, cards, maybe fractals, dishes, tarot bags, baby gifts and LOTS MORE.  Come on in to see the goods but also to see the building.  After the Suitcase Show we will be redecorating the building and have a grand opening in September, with 6 new shops and a great shopping experience.  here is a partial list of the new shops,

The Old Sol Gallery…opening with a display of art by Deborah Welch Prickett, Art by Eddie and Art by Eddie’s Grandma

Nanabelle’s Naturals…lotions and soaps.  This shop will be participating in the Suitcase Show , you can get a sneak peek!

The RosyKat…a great selection of gemstone jewelry and more.

Next week I will let you know the other 3 shops that will open in September.

Now here is the question of the day…what color should I paint the front door?  You remember the first location of funky karma had blue doors, heavily decorated with runes and flowers.  Our shop now has a red door also with runes and flowers.   The new door will have the shop names, and runes and flowers…we seem to have a tradition going here…but what color is the door?  I am thinking either turquoise or lime green but open to new ideas…what do you say?

Changing the date of the suitcase show…

Well, we make plans and the universe changes them, so we roll with the new dateline with as much grace as we can. So it means redoing all of the advertising, reprinting flyers, calling everyone to explain, and countless other small tasks to redo.

The upshot is, real estate closings depend on several others, people up the line, one has to move before another can, permits take longer than expected…or promised…and as we are at the end of this chain instead of getting our newest building on the first of August, we will have the keys on the 15th of August.

The Suitcase Show will be August 17 and 18. Same rules apply. $5.00 to sell whatever you have in your suitcase. Come see our new building, this is a one time event, (unless we find a way to purchase another building). Grand opening of all the shops in the new space will be in September after lots of painting, redoing and general fixing up.

Witches Runes

Yesterday was such a wonderful day,  I got to stay home all day…no errands got done!… and play in my garden shed …had coffee there, read a book and then worked on rune sets in preparation for the upcoming class on Witches Runes, December 10th at 1PM.

Henry had cut the Mesquite branches (from a neighbors pruning) several months ago, now they are nicely dried and ready to be sanded. It was so comfortable sitting in the shed with the sun shinning in so warm and rejuvenating.

I set up a workstation on the desk for wood burning the symbols into the sanded discs.

It took both of us to do the woodburning but by taking turns we got it done easily.

These Rune sets will be for sale in the shop later today and also at the class.

A of the finished Rune sets were passed through the smoke of the purifying and protective smoke then consecrated to their purpose...result...Ready To Use!

Today I packaged new incense blends…

  • Day of the Dead Incense, All Hallows Eve Incense, and Wise Woman Incense

All Hallow’s Eve Incense for the Brave…calls up those spirits who are hanging around.  You might like them  -or- not!  Smokey with Dead Geranium and Old Jasmine.

  • Day of the Dead Incense…a good blend to bury, oh, I mean Burn, while honoring the dead. Evening Delight, Vanilla, Pumpkinspice, allspice and Red Sandlewood.
  • Wise Woman Incense..Full of Sage, Motherwort, LemonBalm, and Nettle with just a hint of Rose.
  • Halloween Oil…Sour Apple, Cloying Clove, Witches Fingers and Old Bones and other creepy things.
