Burning in your cauldron,

Many times we have a small cauldron and no natural pine, juniper or other materials that will fit in the container. Here is the solution to that problem: a burning kit containing a charcoal disc, small branches and berries and a delicious scent.   Available for $5.99.  Great for the full moon, Yule or any time you want a special burn.

One corner of my garden shed.  We worked on it over the long weekend, hung shelving and cabinets on the walls, put up the curtains, laid the rugs, hung the front door, and many other small details.  Already I am drying flower petals to be used for incense soon.

This is the best workbench, countertop is a deal from the restore last year, Henry made the swivel stool out of 2 different broken stools, using the good parts of both.

Pluma says, “I will never understand humans!!”

Yesterday Mom said I was finally growing up and becoming a big boy.  Today she says I am her little baby.  What’s up with this? Can’t she make up her mind?

Here is what happened, maybe you can explain it to me.  It was cold last night, we got a dusting of snow, and I wanted to sleep unner the cobers wif Mom.  So I am sleeping, purring and her chin felt like a momma kitty and I started making nursing sounds and my feets started needing.  Mom said my claws hurted her and woke me up.  So finally I went back to sleep and it was so warm and cozy and her hair was near my mouth and in my sleep I started making nursing sounds again and my feet began to move and again she woke me up saying I was her little baby.

I tell you it is hard to get a good nights sleep with her constantly waking me up!

Growing up and eating people foods!!

Hi Everyone, Pluma here.  Hope you have had good holidays and are enjoying the new year!

Mom says I am growing up.  I will be 7 this month and will have a party Jan. 17th at the Funky Karma Shop.  I am not allowed to have cake, (and I wouldn’t eat it anyway) so I will be giving Birthday Cake Incense to everyone who comes in to see me that day.

Yesterday was New Years Day and Mom and Dad had special food to eat.  In all of my years I have never eaten people food, even when it was offered to me, I turn up my nose and walk away.  I only like my cat crunches, and some treats that Miss Ann brings to the shop.  BUT. . . now I LOVE real live fresh dead shrimp!  Many of my friends on the Internets have told me they love shrimps but I wouldn’t eat them until this year. Yesterday I ate 3! They were delicious and I want more but Mom says “You have to wait for a special day to have more” I said “Why?  I want more right now!”

After dinner and a nap Dad and I played fetch for hours.  He can throw the toy to the far end of the house, I like to run fast and slide on the hardwood floor, catch the toy then run real fast back to him so he can throw it again.  Mom throws like a girl, not very far and it’s not as much fun.

Thanksgiving

A super wonderful day at our house.  we made the stuffing, cooked the turkey, ate too much, then had great conversation before cleaning up.wpid-2014-11-26-19.33.21.jpg

Getting the new house ready for Thanksgiving

I spent my day off from the shop yesterday getting the dinning room ready for our Thanksgiving Day dinner. We are so blessed with the new house this year, been working on it for 7 weeks, and we are so happy to be able to share it with friends. Using the dinning room table and two folding tables to fit everyone in.

The colorful tablecloth will hold the food, (serving buffet style), this is my traditional Thanksgiving table-cloth, used to thing it had turkeys on it until my friend Heather told me it was a chicken.  But I am still using it because the colors are right.

This table will hold the deserts, pies, cheesecakes, and what ever others are bringing.  We have 14 people coming, and lots of good foods.

Space available for your small business

Funky Karma is still looking for a renter in the Annex, we have a small space next to the snack bar available for $90. a month or a large space in the front, with display windows available for $500. a month. Only dedicated and committed businesses are desired, someone who can be open the hours of Tuesday-Sat 10AM-6Pm and Sunday 11-3Pm. We have had other businesses in the Annex who chose not to be open all of the days and unfortunately they did not do very well. Customers get discouraged when they do not find the shops open when they come to shop. If you are serious about running a small business, come talk to me.

projects in the new house

wpid-2014-10-27-08.39.39.jpgHi, long time no see!!  We have been busy, with the shop, of course, and with buying a new house.  it is a 100-year-old adobe house, large enough, and with a huge yard.  A new garden will sprout soon but first there is the moving in process, lots of truck loads of furniture and belongings, curtain hanging, kitchen arranging, and much more.

Although the house is move in ready, for the most part, some projects needed to be accomplished right away.
Like this door on my sun porch, leading to the ‘as yet to be garden’. Pluma says it is creepy, has 100-year-old paint on it and spiders. “Fix it Mom,’ he says.
